WHAT DOES
THIS PROMISE REPRESENT?

Launched at the World Economic Forum in 2019, The Hispanic Promise showcases companies' commitment to advancing Hispanics as employees, consumers, and community members.

Developed with input from private, non-profit, and academic sectors, The Hispanic Promise Framework includes goals, targets, and resources to guide best practices and create inclusive environments for Hispanic advancement. The 3.0 framework offers sample activities and outcomes at three levels, allowing companies to start from their current position and progress accordingly.

The Hispanic Star Promise Pledge: Principles for Elevating Our Narrative and Advancing Our Agenda

By signing this pledge, I commit to embodying the following
principles to change perceptions, unify our community, and build a
stronger, more equitable, and prosperous future.
‍
I. Perception and Narrative: Rebranding Latinos
1. Be a Factivist:
Learn and share the data about Latino contributions to the country.
Use facts to change perceptions and amplify the positive Latino
narrative.
2. Celebrate and Promote Success:
Publicly celebrate the achievements of fellow Latinos. Share stories
that showcase our excellence and contributions.
3. Represent with Pride:
Be an ambassador of the Latino brand. Speak positively about our
community, avoid public criticism of fellow Latinos, and behave with
dignity to elevate our collective reputation.
‍
II. Behavior: Unity and Empowerment
4. Operate from Abundance:
Move from a scarcity mentality to an abundance mindset. Work
collectively, not competitively, and discourage fear-based or divisive
behaviors.
5. Empower Each Other:
Actively seek opportunities to uplift other Latinos. An empowered
Latino empowers others.
6. Support Latino:
Whenever possible, hire, mentor, promote, and do business with
other Latinos to build an ecosystem of mutual support.
7. Share the Access Code:
Break down barriers and open doors for other Latinos. Share
opportunities, resources, and networks to ensure collective success.

III. Accountability: Peer Pressure for Progress
8. Protect the Latino Brand:
Stand up against efforts to diminish the public perception of Latinos.
Defend our image with vigor and pride.
9. Practice Charitable Action:
Give back to the community by offering time, resources, and
influence to support others in need.
10. Hold Each Other Accountable:
Commit to these principles and ensure others do the same. Use peer
pressure to align actions with our shared goals and call out behavior
that undermines the community.

The Pledge
‍
I pledge to uphold these principles in my actions, words, and
commitments. Together, we will elevate the Latino narrative, build
unity, and create opportunities for a thriving, empowered Latino
community.
