RUTH BATRES

Ruth Batres is a DACAmented Scholar and Community Activist born and raised in Cuidad Juarez, Mexico. Ruth and her family fled their country because of violence and arrived in Los Angeles, where she has been residing since then. She attended UCLA and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in international studies and earned a Master of Arts degree from Loyola Marymount University in counseling and guidance. She currently works as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for L.A. County, as well as an academic counselor for the community college district. Ruth’s ultimate goal is to one day become a college president and create a non-profit organization for the undocumented population.
